BusinessFirst Insurance Company (BFIC) is a Florida domiciled stock insurance company providing workers’ compensation insurance to eligible employers.

The Company was founded in 2003 by the Trustees of the Florida Retail Federation Self Insurers Fund.

All of the trustees serve as the Board of Directors for BusinessFirst Insurance Company.  Petcoff serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as, Chairman of the Board.  Mr. Hanselman serves as Treasurer and Mr. Nissen as Secretary.

Since its inception, BFIC has grown to more than $20,000,000 of annualized premium.

The parent self insurers fund was created in January 1979 to serve members of the Florida Retail Federation.  The Fund has been guided since inception by the current Board of Trustees.  It has achieved an annualized premium level of more than $160,000,000.  Its investment portfolio exceeds $200,000,000.   The Fund has maintained a very profitable position in the market place, enjoying the position of market leader for consistently low loss ratios.
